A Bucket of Blood

Our Take

A Bucket of Blood (1959) - Roger Corman takes a satirical axe to the neck of 1950s beatnik culture and lets it bleed. Dick Miller is Walter Paisley, a loser waiter who finally finds fame as a sculptor by covering dead cats and humans in thick, grey clay. It’s a pitch-black comedy that understands the art world is just a hollow shell filled with pretentious vultures. It’s fast, sharp, and brilliantly cynical, proving that beneath every great masterpiece, there’s usually a rotting corpse and a man desperate for a little bit of recognition.
